What we actually do

The practical work behind your online business

Some of it you already handle yourself. Some of it hasn't been touched in months. These are the common areas we support our clients in — each handled individually, not as a bundled package.

Website builds & fixes

Your site was built once, a while ago, and hasn't kept up since. We build it right from the start, or fix what's actually broken instead of patching around it.

Shop builds & migrations

An online shop that doesn't fight you every time you add a new piece — set up fresh or moved off a platform you've outgrown.

Newsletter setup & first send

The newsletter you've been meaning to start for two years. We set it up and get the first one out the door.

Data work — migrations & cleanup

A customer list full of duplicates, a spreadsheet nobody fully trusts, records scattered across three different tools. Cleaned up, organized, and moved wherever it needs to go.

Google Business Profile & local listings

The Google listing with last year's hours, the wrong address, or no photos at all. Set up correctly and kept current.

Content, blog & exhibition updates

The homepage still announcing a show that closed months ago. New work, new shows, new information — added when it happens, not eventually.

Newsletter writing & sending

A newsletter that actually goes out — written and sent on a rhythm, instead of "I really should email my list" sitting on your to-do list.

Shop management & product updates

Orders, inventory, sold-out pieces still listed as available. The daily upkeep of a shop, handled instead of piling up.

Social media posting & upkeep

The account you haven't posted to since spring — or the one you post to, but never quite consistently. Kept active on a schedule that doesn't depend on you remembering.

Backups & security

The quiet fear that a hack or a bad update could wipe out years of work. Backed up and protected, so that's one less thing to carry.

Search visibility — SEO, AEO, GEO

Not showing up when someone searches "[your city] art gallery" — or asks ChatGPT the same question. Fixed, in plain terms, not jargon.

Strategy & roadmap

Not just a task list — a plan for what matters most and in what order, revisited as things change so it keeps working for you.

Smart Artistics - Gallery Showcase

Brand & studio photography

Photos that actually look like you

For artists, galleries, and events — personal brand, studio, exhibition, or product photography. Real images of your actual work, not a phone photo standing in until "someday."

Brand Studio Gallery Exhibitions Artworks Workshops

This is what we call True Exposure — on-location photography, scoped and quoted around what you actually need, not a fixed package.

We don't just complete your tasks. You get access to our experience — knowing what's possible, what works, and what fits your goals.

How it works

Start small. Stay as long as it helps.

No task is too small to start with. No project is too big to take on.

01

Book a free call

Fill out the form and tell us what's going on. Thirty minutes, no pressure, no pitch — just a conversation about what you actually need.

02

Get a clear quote

One task, a handful of tasks, or a full project — we scope it and quote it before anything starts. No surprises once work begins.

03

The work gets done, inside your accounts

Everything happens inside your own website, shop, and accounts — never outsourced. Already working with someone else? We're glad to work alongside them.

04

Stay as long as it's useful

Come back whenever the next thing comes up, or move into ongoing monthly care. Spots are limited, and reserved for clients we already know.

Engagements start at a $300 minimum — enough to actually solve the problem, not just patch it.

What clients ask for

When these tasks add up to something bigger

Four kinds of projects come up again and again — some timeless, some more urgent now because of how search and AI have changed.

Foundation

Start clean, or fix what's been ignored

A new website or shop, or a serious rework of what you already have — the parts that have been broken, outdated, or quietly ignored for months. Either way, you end up with a solid foundation everything else can stand on.

This is what we call Ground Up

AI Visibility

Written to be found — and understood

Your content rewritten so search engines, AI tools like ChatGPT, and actual visitors all understand what you do — not just published, but genuinely clear. One of the fastest-moving parts of an online presence right now, and one of the most overlooked.

This is what we call Content Readiness

First Impressions

Ready for the visitor, not just the click

A look at the visitor experience itself — before, during, and after they walk through your door or attend your event. Getting someone to show up is only half the job.

This is what we call Experience Readiness

Peace of Mind

Stay updated and consistent

The ongoing version of everything above — tasks handled every month, without you having to remember or ask. A small number of spots are open at any time.

This is what we call Monthly Care

Why us

Run by an artist and a strategist — not an agency

Three things that set us apart from a generic agency — and put us to work specifically for the art industry.

Reasons to work with us

An artist and an expert, working together

Jennifer brings the artist's perspective — what a gallery or studio actually needs. Heinz brings the technical and marketing expertise to make it happen. Together, not separately.

Everything stays in your accounts

Your website, shop, and every account we touch stay fully yours — nothing locked into a system only we can access. If we ever part ways, you keep everything exactly as it is.

We work in English and Deutsch

We understand the German and European worlds as well as the American one, not just the language.

Who we are

Jennifer Vahlbruch

Jennifer knows what a gallery or studio actually needs, because she's lived it as a working artist herself.

Heinz Vahlbruch - Founder & Strategist

Heinz R. Vahlbruch

The technical & marketing expert

27+ years in digital operations, IT, and marketing — over 100 projects delivered for creative businesses.

Heinz handles the strategy, the technical work, and the marketing, so the online side actually works.

Together, we shape the strategy — and guide you through it, as much or as little as you want.

What clients say

What it's like to work with us

Working with Heinz has been an anchor in a storm for me. We worked on creating a new extensive offering on my website of 9 different classes/events. It's a HUGE weight off my shoulders to be able to trust him to bring my vision to life on my website. As an artist, I love seeing my vision come to life and he has the technical skills to accomplish that.

Summer Lydick  | Artist

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jennifer Vahlbruch for photographing my artwork, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Jennifer's keen eye for detail and exceptional skills in fine art photography truly brought my pieces to life. She has a remarkable ability to capture the essence and vibrancy of each artwork, highlighting textures and colors in a way that exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Jennifer Vahlbruch to any artist seeking top-notch photography services. Her work not only showcases the beauty of the artwork but also adds an extra layer of depth and sophistication. Thank you, Jennifer, for your outstanding work!

Agnieszka Russo  | Artist @ Agnieszka Russo Art

Jennifer is a pleasure to work with and has provided our gallery with ongoing images that are used in promotional efforts. She always captures the requested images, then goes above and beyond to find new angles and interesting takes that add to our marketing portfolio. She has not only earned our business, but also that of artists within the gallery for their own marketing needs.

Common questions

A few things people usually ask

How much does this cost?

It depends on what you need. Every task or project is quoted before anything starts, so you know the price upfront. Most engagements start at a $300 minimum. Monthly care packages start at $300/month.

What does "no outsourcing" actually mean for me?

Every task is done personally by Heinz — never handed off to a subcontractor, an agency, or an overseas team. You always know exactly who's doing the work.

I'm not very technical. Can I still work with you?

Yes — that's most of our clients. You don't need to understand websites, SEO, or any of it. You tell us what's going on, we handle the rest, and explain anything in plain language along the way.

I already have a website or a contractor. Can you still help?

Yes. We're glad to work alongside someone you already have, or take on specific tasks without touching the rest. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

What happens after the free call?

If it makes sense to work together, we scope the task or project and send a quote. Nothing starts until you approve it — there's no pressure and no obligation from the call itself.

Do you work with clients outside the US?

Yes. We work with clients across the US and Europe, in English and Deutsch — that's actually part of why Smart Artistics exists.
